ChemEdu at a Glance

The Chemistry Education Study Program was established based on the high need for chemistry teachers in West Kalimantan, while bringing teachers from outside the West Kalimantan Province faced many obstacles, including the availability of housing facilities for these teachers. Based on the Decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education No. 178/D/T/2003, dated January 30, 2003 and signed by Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro as the Director General of Higher Education, the Chemistry Education Study Program at the PMIPA Department of FKIP Untan was formed.

In 2020, the Chemistry Education Study Program implemented the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka curriculum. In 2008, the Chemistry Education Study Program obtained its first accreditation certificate and received an accreditation score of C based on the BAN-PT Decree number 011/BAN-PT/aK-XI/S1/VI/2008, which was later re-accredited for the second time in 2014, obtaining an accreditation rating of B based on the BANPT Decree Number 176/BAN-PT/Akred/S/VI/2014. Subsequently, the third re-accreditation in 2019 obtained an accreditation rating of A based on BAN-PT No. 3409/SK/BANPT/Akred/S/IX/2019.

The education level of the Chemistry Education Study Program is Undergraduate (S1) with a study period of 7-8 semesters (approximately 4 years). The bachelor's degree for graduates of the Chemistry Education Study Program is Bachelor of Education (S.Pd).
